Do you have anxiety thinking about how to prepare for your boudoir session? Well, I’m here to help! When you prepare for your boudoir session the last thing that you should do is stress. I’ve got 3 tips to help you prepare.

1.Start planning early.

One of the best things you can do for yourself is to prepare for your boudoir session early! Book your session 3-6 months in advance of when you will need your final products. Here’s why: Your photographer most likely books sessions months in advance. It also takes time to complete your final products such as your album or wall art. The last thing you want is to book your boudoir session last minute and not have your photos ready in time for when you need them.

2. Try everything on ahead of time.

Don’t wait until you are at the studio to try your outfits on for the very first time. The best way to prepare for your boudoir session is to know exactly what you want to wear. This will take the guess work out of your day and will also help you prepare to have your hair and makeup done. Do a 360 in the mirror when you try an outfit on. Don’t be afraid to be fitted by a local bra specialist so you can find the right fit. One of the best pieces of advice I love to give all my clients is don’t be afraid to try something on that you never think you’d wear. It just may be the piece you fall in love with! Outfits are one of the biggest keys to a successful boudoir session. Also, don’t be afraid of implied nude or nude images. These usually end up being the images my clients love most! This leads us to the third tip to prepare for your boudoir session.

3. Treat yourself with love.

Take the time to pamper yourself, after all, this day is all about you. It is key to not only prepare mentally for your boudoir session but to also prepare physically. One of the best things you can start doing today for yourself is start by drinking plenty of water. Hydrate yourself. Take the time to care for your skin, your hair, and your nails. Stay away from tanning beds and spray tans. Love your skin you are in. If you color your hair, get a touch up and love those locks. Also, don’t be afraid to do things like getting a facial, waxing, and getting plenty of sleep.
